We all know what May means.. It’s summer break! Oh-Goodies! this month makes the perfect beach companion — these refreshing snacks will cool you down and lift you up while you’re out enjoying the sunshine.
We give you the lowdown on the contents for this month!
1. CoCo Water:
Coconut water is a fabulous drink to quench your body. Low in sugar and high on potassium it’s a great electrolyte replacement. This drink will boost your energy and improve your athletic performance. If you do hot yoga or high intensity exercise – this is your drink! Highly recommend for weight loss too!
Ingredients: Pure coconut water, with no sugar added and zero additives.
2. Dried Mango and Kiwi Mix:
This duo mix is a true boost of vitamin C! Mango and kiwifruit are both high in dietary fibre, which not only helps keep your digestive system running smoothly, but also shortens the time waste spends in your colon. The potassium in mango and kiwi is an important cell and body fluid component to help control your heart rate and blood pressure.
Ingredients: Dried mangoes, dried kiwi.
3. Roasted chickpeas:
A brilliant snack for weight management! Due to its high dietary fibre content it helps regulate blood sugar levels and increase chances of satiety. It helps to support digestive tract function and carries a unique supply of antioxidant phytonutrients which reduce our risk of heart disease.
Ingredients: Chickpeas.
4. Nu Smoothie (Pineapple/Banana/Coconut):
This trio is a superb energy boost drink for people on the go! Pineapple is high in vitamin C as well as an excellent source of the trace mineral manganese which is an essential cofactor in energy production. Banana high in potassium, vitamins A, C and B6. Coconut is the superb source of electrolytes which provide instant hydration.
Ingredients: Pure juice and purées (pineapple, banana, apple, coconut milk, orange and
lemon). No added sugar, no preservatives, no colourings.
5. Banana chips with strawberry powder:
Bananas are one of the most popular foods in the world. For many centuries, banana have been used to settle upset stomach, reduce stress, and stimulate brain power. Bananas are high on potassium which is important for controlling your heart rate and blood pressure. They are a good source of magnesium that helps strengthen your bones and protect your heart.
Ingredients:Banana 89%, Strawberry 9%, Rice bran oil 2%. No added sugar, no preservatives, no colourings.
6. GSH Conserves Dragonfruit and Lychee Jam:
A little bit of sweetness in moderation is good for us! Did you know that glucose is the only fuel normally used by our brain cells? Too much sugar or refined carbohydrates at one time, however, can deprive your brain of glucose. So use it sparingly, but enjoy the goodness of dragon fruit and lychee. Dragonfruit and lychee are rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, calcium and potassium.
Ingredients: Dragonfruit (pink), lychee, sugar, lime juice, apple pectin.
